Some of BSW’s most interesting images have been selected to be featured in a charity calendar for 2020
Images from both BSW Timber and IRO Timber’s portfolios have been chosen to appear in the Timber Decking and Cladding Association’s (TDCA) charity calendar for 2020.
The winning images feature two of the most prominent and intriguing installations of the year: the BEAM installation at Glastonbury Festival and the LAND installation at Chelsea Flower Show.
For BEAM, BSW donated over 2,500 logs to award winning artist Wolfgang Buttress, who created a magnificent bee-themed installation within the Greenpeace field at the world famous festival.
While for LAND, IRO Timber was used extensively to create an oasis of solitude within the Chelsea Flower Show courtesy of a collaboration between The Plant Room and Laura Slater Textiles.
The warming night-time shot of the BEAM installation was taken by Amsterdam and London-based photographer Mark Hadden, who had been working alongside the BEAM team and Wolfgang Buttress to document the installation and those who visited it during the festival.
Mark said: “I was thrilled to be involved with the BEAM exhibit. It was a fantastic to project to work on alongside Wolfgang and it’s an honour for my work to be recognised by the TDCA.”
The detailed shot of the peaceful LAND exhibit was captured by Leeds photographer Joanne Crawford, who also spent time immersed with the LAND team to record the project. Joanne specialises in working with creators and artists in capturing their processes and the eventual beautiful spaces that emerge.
Joanne said: “It’s fantastic that the TDCA have chosen one of my LAND images to be featured in their calendar this year. It was lovely to be involved in the exhibition at Chelsea Flower Show and the fact that the proceeds from the calendar go to charity makes it even better.”
James Brennan, marketing manager at BSW and IRO, said: “It’s fantastic to be featured in the TDCA calendar for the coming year. I think it really showcases both the strength of the images we entered and the exciting nature of projects we’ve been involved with in 2019.”
