A BSW employee is in the running to be one of the strongest men in the country.
David Ramplee, who works at BSW Newbridge Mill, has competed in the Wales’ Strongest Man contest for the last three years.
Log Yard worker David has enjoyed success finishing 7th, 4th and 6th respectively but has his sights set on a podium finish for next year and subsequent qualification into the UK strongman.
His latest challenge was the Battle of Britain – with competitors from four home nations battling out through five events to determine the strongest nation. Ramplee’s Wales coming a close second despite being pipped to the post by England.
David Ramplee, of BSW Newbridge, said: “Next year I’m planning a podium finish in the Welsh Strongest Man as well as a top three finish to compete in UK strongman – I’ll be investing in some more strongman equipment as well, since travelling over two hours just to train isn’t very easy.”
