BSW Timber Dalbeattie has welcomed some international visitors this week.

Students and tutors from Crowder College in Neosho, Missouri visited the Dalbeattie site on Wednesday.

The visit was part of the college’s transatlantic tour whereby students were introduced to a variety of different land uses throughout Scotland – with forestry and timber processing be a key part of the visit and BSW Dalbeattie being their number one option.

The freshman and sophomore students were treated to a mill tour and a talk covering the mill’s operations by Production Manager, Robert Lamont.

The 27 strong party of students study all areas of agriculture including: agriculture education, agriculture communications, vet tech, livestock management, animal science, agronomy and poultry science.

Crowder College is a two-year community college serving the Community College District of Newton and McDonald counties in southwestern Missouri and other outlying areas.
