BSW Timber’s Sales Director, Mike Faulkner and friend Janet McGeever raise over £8,000 for charity after cycling the length of Ireland.

Mike and Janet rode over 600km from Mazen Head to Malin Head in just six days. The challenge raised money for Pancreatic Cancer UK and Donegal Down Syndrome and marked a birthday milestone for Janet.

Mike rode in aid of Pancreatic Cancer UK, a charity very close to his heart after recently losing his Aunty to the disease.

While Janet rode in support of Donegal Down Syndrome, a charity that helps fund causes such as speech therapy, swimming and drama lessons for people with Downs Syndrome in County Donegal.

The pair collectively raised over an incredible £8,000 for their chosen charities.

Mike Faulkner, Group Sales Director, said: “Not only was this an experience of a lifetime, but we were able to raise money for two incredible charities. Thank you to everyone who donated and supported the ride.”

Mizen to Malin is known as the Irish ‘End to End’. The route took Mike and Janet from the Mizen Peninsula cycling through the heart of Ireland over six days, taking in Janet’s home county finishing at Malin Head on Janet’s milestone birthday.

Pancreatic Cancer UK are supporting people with pancreatic cancer now, campaigning, and funding vital research to transform the future.

Anyone wishing to donate to the cause can still do so via Mike’s dedicated JustGiving page by clicking here or Janet’s iDonate page here.
